Mr. Barry Charley - Principal
The mission of Calhoun County Public Schools, in unity with parents and community is to provide an environment conducive to learning that challenges all students to reach their maximum potential for success in a rapidly changing global society.
Some of the accomplishments here at St. Matthews K-8 are:
- On December 12, 2011, State Superintendent of Education, Mick Zais visited St. Matthews K-8 School and recognized us for our achievement on the State Report Card.
- For school year 2011-2012, the elementary school received a rating of 91.3 which is an A rating, and the middle school received a rating of 88 which is a B by the Elementary Secondary
Education Association (ESEA).
- For school year 2011-2012, we received the Palmetto Silver Award.
- On August 28, 2012, we received recognition for the Palmetto Silver Award by Nikki Setzler, Senate District 26.
